There are few things more refreshing on a hot summer day than a nice mango gelati from Rita’s Water Ice. Never heard of it? Well, then you clearly aren’t spending enough time exploring the delicacies of the Tri-state area. As a born and bred Californian, I did a four year stint in Philadelphia for college. I’ll admit that I was skeptical about this refreshing treat. What could possibly be so magical about some flavored Italian ice with a little (or a lot) of custard in it? The answer is everything. Now that I’m back living on the best coast and we finally have a little summer weather, all I can think is: when are they going to open up a Rita’s in Los Angeles?
